BlueCool Installation – Preliminary Conditions The following conditions are necessary to confirm BCT Truck installation is possible prior to initial training and installation. We recommend determining if the truck (or trucks) involved meet the following preliminary conditions for the installation by submitting the requested information below. Preliminary Conditions ü Confirm truck’s brand, model year and cab model (e.g. 2005 Kenworth T2000). ü Determine if the standard alternator will satisfy the requirements of the vehicle’s original equipment and accessories plus the BCT system. It must be rated 160 Amps MINIMUM. ü Check battery count and size (capacity - CCA). ü According to the truck brand and model (each configuration in particular), identify if the frame has enough free space to attach the BCT cold storage unit. It must be at least 26.5”. If the BCT storage and refrigeration unit are installed behind full fairings, the condenser fan may need to be replaced with a pull type as noted in the parts manual. ü Determine which of the three BCT bracket options available is best suited for this application. ü Inside the cab, identify if enough space is available for the air handler unit.
Pictures of the truck involved would be helpful to identify necessary retrofit issues. The pictures from outside should show side fairings/steps and their brackets, the position and/or location of fuel tanks, compressed air tanks, battery tray, muffler/exhaust, etc. Include pictures from inside the cab, a view of the rear wall of the sleeper and storage compartments underneath the bunk.
